Ladies', Men's 4 and Mixed 4 matches shall consist of 6 rubbers of doubles. All rubbers will be the best of 3 games to 21 points. The side winning a rally adds a point to its score. At 20 all, the side which gains a 2 point lead first wins that game. At 29 all, the side scoring the 30th point wins that game.
At the start of each match both teams will nominate their players in order of strength. Rubbers shall then be played in order:
1 & 2 | v | 1 & 2 |
3 & 4 | v | 3 & 4 |
1 & 4 | v | 1 & 4 |
2 & 3 | v | 2 & 3 |
1 & 3 | v | 1 & 3 |
2 & 4 | v | 2 & 4 |
NOTE
Your no.1 player will always play against the opposite no.1 etc. therefore the players should be nominated in strength i.e. no.1 is the best player etc. It's a bit demoralising if your best player is nominated to play at no.4 position against the opposition no.4 each time.
Mixed 4 players will be:
1: | Man 1 |
2: | Man 2 |
3: | Lady 1 |
4: | Lady 2 |
Points will be awarded on the basis of 2 points to a winning team and 1 point to each team in the event of a draw. League positions will be determined on the number of points gained. In the event of a tie, matches won and if necessary, rubbers won, games won, then aces won, will be used to determine placing.
